Human Trafficking-Focus
On Youth Learning Series

This one day learning session will
provide you with an understanding
of what is Human Trafficking with a
focus on youth that are being
exploited in the sex trade in
Edmonton. Special guest Trisha
Baptie who will provide insight
into a world that few see.  As well
an assessment tool will be
presented to use to identify
individuals being trafficked.  

Thank you to all our guest

Detective David Schening,
Detective Steven Horchuk,  Amy
Stephens, and Trisha Baptie; for a
very successful educational day of
awareness into human
trafficking.  Also a special thank
you to all the attendees, as all
profits will go towards our causes
in Nepal and Vietnam, as well for
as local charities.

We are always looking for new
volunteers.  If you want to be part of
a group who enjoys helping others,
and want to make a positive change
to people's lives, please call us and

Temporary Foreign Workers Christmas Dinner 2012
Our Goal for 2012 is to
raise $20,000.

Charities and projects for
2012: included the Biosand
filters (Nepal), cataract
surgeries (Vietnam) and The
Olive Tree Projects in Haiti.  
Local projects and support
included the Mill Woods
Community Church,
Temporary Foreign Workers
Dinner, Rexall's Fight for
Cancer - Ken Szopa and
assistance with building a
school in Africa

To date, we have funded 150
cataract surgeries and 200
Biosand Filters.

In 2011: A total of $38,000
was raised through various  
events.  The cost to facilitate
these events was
approximately $13,000 and
additional $2,000 for
administrative costs. The
remainder of the funds were
used as follows: $5000
donated to BSF working with
Environment & Public Health
Organization (ENPHO) –
Village Mehentada, Surkhet
District, $5,000 to cataract
surgeries, $3500 to Centre for
Newcomers Temporary
Foreign Workers Christmas
Dinner .  

All these funds will be given by
Dec 31, 2011.
